As you indicate, Taskmator is unreliable. It is also very easy to move things ‘by accident’ and there is no undo.
However, I use Taskmator as a read-only tool on iOS. I sync a copy my main TaskPapers with Taskmator’s iCloud Drive folder. Far from ideal, but I do find that useful.
