Just posted a new version of this preview that adds back old “poof” animation when deleting items. Pref to disable.

Posted a new version that only recognizes -
as leading char for task lines.
Posted new version that fixed issue raised in this post:
Hi.
apologies if I was unclear.
I am not creating a new document. I am combining two existing documents already populated with content.
drag & drop title bar of A onto title bar B to create new tab. Or or Merge All Windows
focus on project in B
click on home in sidebar
A comes into the foreground. Not defocused B
focus on project in A
return to B
click home in sidebar
8 B is defocused
return to A
click home in sidebar
B is brought to the foreground.
Best

In this version the UI is updated for macOS Big Sur … when running on Big Sur titlebar is transparent. Now actually looks almost exactly like the first mockup in this post from 2016:
Here are two more mockups that I was experimenting with:

They work a bit better with narrow window sizes since the search text doesn’t compete with the title text. These were the mockups that I started with, then think I stared at them to long and so found my previous posted markup appealing and called that my favorite. Now that I’ve stared at that one for a while… these look more appealing again
Anyway, thoughts welcome!
Not sure that I’m fully on board… the reason I ended up not going with that approach is because in the end I like a clean distinct toolbar better. But I guess this is the future, so I’m going with it!
