TaskPaper Not Opening In Tahoe 26.1

Hi,

TaskPaper’s been working fine for me in MacOS Tahoe, but after updating to 26.1 the app won’t open.

I’ve done the usual things, restart, run cleaning tools like Onyx, but to no avail.

If this is an isolated issue to my machine I’d be grateful for any pointers to resolve it, otherwise this might be a bug that needs resolving.

Thanks

Seems to work normally for me after updating to 26.1.

Interesting! Thanks for this, so it’s clearly something to do with my personal setup. Will have to do some digging to see if I can find the source of the problem….

@Gorgonzola @julesg I’ve just posted a preview release that you can test:

For me it’s crashing every time I start Command-Shift-F filtering. @julesg maybe it was crashing for you on startup because your window was being restored with an active search? Anyway please try this preview and let me know if it fixes problem.

Hi Jesse and thank you for the incredibly quick response!

OK, so having experimented a little:

  • Your hunch was spot on about restoring an active search being the problem with the existing release. I have TaskPaper set up to always open to the same document with built in tailored searches etc. From your prompting, when I tried to open TaskPaper standalone i.e. opening with a blank document, it would indeed open. Then when I pointed it at the document with the built in searches, bang and down the application would go.
  • Having loaded your preview release it solves that problem. I’ll experiment with it more extensively over the coming day, but so far all seems good with the preview - searches are working - built on tags and logic around the tags, the customised theme I use loads fine, so so far so good!

Thanks again for the very rapid response and I’ll post any issues I find with the preview.

Jules
