This preview release fixes a crash when opening Command-Shift-F search field on macOS 26.1. I hope to release this soon, so please give it a spin and let me know if anything is off.
A problem that still remains from the prev version (it may be theme-related, never got around to playing with it) is that on some occasions when opening a search it puts the search bar way down the page (see attached). Occurs with Cmd-Sh-F and picking a saved search. Restarting will usually fix this.
What version of macOS are you using and about how often does this happen for you? Can you reproduce it in a minute, 5 minutes? Can you reproduce it with the default text that shows when you create a new document? (I am trying that text, and also trying longer texts)
Still on Sequoia (15.6.1 (24G90)). It happens infrequently, I can’t recreate it at will, and I cannot work out the conditions that make it happen, but it’s been like it on (at least) the last few versions of the app. I’ve not put much time into diagnosing the issue, and I appreciate that this is the type of bug report that drives me mad , but was vaguely hoping that someone else had seen the same issue and could shed some light on what triggers it.
I’ve turned off the default text, so have no idea if it will happen with that. Most of my files are a few hundred lines long, but the issue occurs on several, if not all, files, and iirc on both newer, shorter ones as well as the larger ones. Yet I can use a 10,000+ line test taskpaper document I’ve got and not force it to happen, so I’m not sure it’s directly size related.
Feel free to park this one for now, and I’ll be more mindful next time it happens as to what might have caused it and feed back then.
