Updated to Preview 288 (from 278) and now my bktheme in the Themes folder is not being seen at all. It isn’t listed in the themes in the Appearance pane pop-ups, so I can’t get Bike to use it. What can have changed?
Replying to myself: Look in the logs, silly! The materials.window type has changed.
Upshot: All of the materials entries had changed their type; I substituted {} (an empty dictionary) for all of the ones I had, and presto, we’re back in business.

It’s all good; the Log explained the problem (though of course it stops reporting when it hits the first issue with a theme, which is a pity), and these sorts of changes are to be expected during an open preview period. Besides, there’s a schema so how much more helpful can you get?
