Hi all,
Thanks to guidance and discussion with @jessegrosjean and a lot of help from Claude, I have a cool present for those who juggle multiple tasks in Bike and are often moving unfinished or re-scheduled tasks from one date to another.
The attached extension (simply drop the bkext folder into your Bike/Extensions folder) will assign a due date value inherited from the date you created it under. When you move that task to another date, it will automatically inherit the due date of the destination you move it to.
Some enhancements since the initial version:
- The inheritance is overlooked if you have hand-entered a due date for a task.
- There is a new command “Preview Due-Date Tree” which gives you a peek at what dates will change when you move a large chunk of nested tasks, some/all of which possess due date values that may either be inherited or hand-coded. You can access this function from the Commands Explorer.
please refer here for the history behind this extension - How do I get a due date value to auto-update? .
There is an extensive Readme in the package, which may contain some minor errors, i haven’t checked what Claude wrote!
Enjoy, and send in any comments/requests if you’d like them considered!
This is version 0.3.55:
