How to remove Today item from sidebar of document?

I don’t intend to use the calendar in this document, and clicking the Today item accidentally creates a calendrical entry in my document, so how do I remove the Today item from the sidebar for this document? I see how to remove it from the sidebar of all documents, but is this not something that can be configured on a per-document basis?

You can do this through Bike > Interface Explorer.

The purpose of Interface Explorer is sort off like the standard Toolbar customization palette, except to configure all the different features that extensions provide…

Anyway, then in Interface Explorer > Sidebar Locations > Today, click the eye in the right column to hide.

Alas no: that removes Today from all documents forever. I know about that. My question is how to determine the display of the Today item for just this document. Is that not a thing?

Well shoot, you said it right there. Sorry I missed that part of your request…

Unfortunately no, I don’t have any good solution for that case. Maybe post 2.0, I think it’s too detailed for me to think about right now.

Cool, just making sure I wasn’t missing something that was actually there.
