I couldn’t use “—” to make a horizontal line. Just through the menu. Any other way?

May be play around with turning off the smart dash substitutions in keyboard settings? Also it’s the little dash, next to the “0” without using shift key. It’s En dash not Em dash. And exactly as complexpoint described.
