Heading and to-do item in one row?

I prepare for an exam using Bike. I have a structured document with many headings. When I type before a heading, it becomes a task. How can I have both?

Bike can’t do that… each row has only one type. So must be either heading, or todo.

With that said there are a few workarounds.

First all the todo list type does is provide the checkbox. You can actually cross any item off as “done”. To do that enter outline mode (use escape key). Once in outline mode use spacebar to toggle any items “done” status, and see strikethrough formatting.

The other option is to use todo items (so you will see the checkbox), but use bold text formatting for the text content so that it “looks” more like a heading, though it will still be a “todo” row.

Hope that helps.
