Focus mode through the sidebar?

When you focus to a specific project through the sidebar is it suppose to show you existing items in that project? Because mine are blank (Mac app store app, version 3.8.16 (475)).

Adding items in that focus mode does prepend them to the pre-existing list, but I get the feeling they should be displayed.

You need to “Tab” key indent those items for them to be considered part of the project. Here is a short video that demonstrates:
