Bike lets you organize your entries very well. But sometimes after a little absence I need to remember my chain of thoughts and reread terse notes in order of entry time, not according to the organizational structure.
Could you save a hidden timestamp of a note’s last edit or entry? And furthermore could you offer an optional view sorted by timestamp? It is not always possible to anticipate a review and structure my notes accordingly in advance. With timestamps my poor addled brain would have a nice little crutch when needed.
It is probably overkill to have timestamps for both entry time and last edit time.
Bike 2 codebase is supporting the first part, it’s saving/loading/updating create and modified dates for each entry. It is not yet actually presenting those anywhere in a UI, and I don’t expect that I’ll have time to work on that for 2.0 release. Since the information is there thought, it wouldn’t be too hard to make a script that generates a list of entries sorted by data/etc.
Actually, I was also thinking of this along the lines of being a separate row type (e.g. one that would pick up and render creation time stamp). Bike is super useful for interstitial journaling and this is a useful feature to have (plus, I hate relying on third-party scripts/tools for basic stuff like this).
Alternatively, would be cool to have some kind of Bear-like Menu shortcut to insert date/time:
