After downloading and unpacking the bz2 the file opens in Textedit. Tried adding executable rights but the App won’t start. Am I missing some point?
Can you copy/paste the exact URL you are downloading? For me TaskPaper download seem to be working. I’m clicking the first “Download” button on www.taskpaper.com.

After the download I get TaskPaper.bz2 with 4.740.572 Bytes. On double-click the file is not unpacked, but packed again (I guess) into TaskPaper.bz2.cpgz. After unpacking the bz2 in terminal I get TaskPaper but it is not executable.

the DMGs were being stored with wrong MIME type on Amazon’s S3. Most browsers ignore that type and just look at file extension, so it generally seemed to work for many people. But under some setups the incorrect MIME type was used instead.
Now it’s working fine.
I had the problem using Safari, I also tried Chrome and there was no issue.
