Hi! I am very optimistic about the utility of the calendar in Bike 2. However, the date format used in the outline is of no use to me, I use ISO exclusively. Is there any chance the date format will default to locale settings or be customisable?
Hi, glad to know the calendar is getting some testing.
You are talking about the text that shows up in your outline or the date strings that are being used as row ids? I “thought” that the outline date strings were already being localized.
Can you show me an example of the dates that you are seeing?
Also, if you are comfortable with Javascript you can see/change how the calendar extension works here:
So this is what I get.
I may be a particularly finicky case – I live in Sweden and use Sweden for region setting but my computer uses UK English as primary language. Ideally Bike would use what I have set up in Settings - Language & Region - Date format by default…
I can take a peek at the Javascript but doubt I will be able to contribute much there unfortunately…
I think that’s the info I need.
Yeah, don’t worry about that. I mostly posted in case you were already a javascript person.
oh oh oh and for bonus points an option for week number rows (also displayed to the left of first day of week in calendar) would be a winner!
Another way to go I guess would be to have a preference pane where users can enter their favoured format for the various row levels using a format (yy-mm-dd etc) like the one on this page: https://dateformat.org
Please try out the updated Calendar in Bike 271 Bike 2.0 (Preview 271)… in particular there are now Bike > Settings > Extensions that you can use to configure it.
