Collapsed section show as expanded when we focus in

I was wondering if it’d be possible to have a setting which controls that when a node is collapsed, and we focus in on it, it shows all the subnotes as expanded.

Basically wanted to have a top level note which has headings, and not have them expanded. But when I zoom in, I want to see the notes under that section.

I agree this will make navigation much better, and good news is I’ve already implemented it in the Bike 2 codebase. Bad news is I still have not a great idea when Bike 2 will be ready for general use.

Oh awesome, good to know!

Ah Bike 1 is such a game changer for me - I’m more than happy to wait as long as it takes for Bike 2 haha. Thanks for building one of the most polished products I’ve used.

Another big quality of life improvement for me (if possible) would be if there was an equivalent of the Focus Heading list, but instead of focusing in, it just took me to that heading (or subheading). Analogous to the shortcut in IDEs which let me jump to a particular function in a file.

Careful what you say, when I’m working my hardest things take forever. If customers are already happy what will I do!?

I’m not ready to think about/track this yet, but I agree generally that the current Focus Heading UI is too specific now and should be generalized in a number of ways. Once the Bike 2 previews start showing up again in a more finished state start lobbying.

Haha :see_no_evil:. It’s more a case of I don’t know what I don’t know. With most of my favorite software (Readwise, Godspeed, Cursor, Bike) the quality is so high that I’m happy with the current state. And then the next version comes out and I’m like I need this thing noww lol

Makes sense. Will do, thanks.
