Bug: can’t fully promote project under focused project

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Focus any project
  2. Create a child project
  3. Attempt to promote the child project to the same level as the parent project

Expected result: child project can be fully promoted

Actual result: child project can be promoted only up to the parent’s level minus one

But it sounds like that is the expected behavior. You are focused on that project, and promoting a child to the same level as the parent would not be possible since it would have to cancel the focus. I think that what you want is a feature request.

You may request a feature that make it so that where when a project is focused and you want to promote a child above that project, TaskPaper automatically focuses on the parent project. It actually sounds like a pretty good feature request to me!

Hi @Victor,

I think that’s a good point. I am focused in this scenario, after all.

It would be nice if TP automatically up-focused if I tried to “promote out-of-focus.”

The alternative now is to manually unfocus, scroll down to the project in question, and finish promoting.

Just to close this thread out, this should be possible now.
