I personally disable Bike 2 Preview (254) Settings > AutoCorrect > Use smart row types, just because one of its autocorrections happens to get in my way.
( {-, *, +} all get mapped to Unordered lists , and the inclusion there of (+) clashes with my note-taking habit of starting many notes with conjunctions (and, so, but etc), and my preference for abbreviating {in addition, also, what's more} etc down to a quickly typed and visually clear initial “+” )
Not a priority, and we can script custom autocorrects of our own, but just in case any one else is getting tripped by wanting to start some lines with an initial literal “+”, I wonder whether it would seem sensible to allow for some customisation, via UI, of the smart row-type autocorrects, or perhaps just specifically allowing us to prune the generous provision of {-, *, +} for Unordered down to whichever specific character (or two) we happen to reach for in that context ?
Yeah, I think I added all those types in the excitement of “markdowny!”, but I only ever use the -, and well I only use that for testing mostly since I rarely use unordered items. Instead of preferences I think I will just remove the + and * cases. These are autocorrect shortcuts, not markdown, Jesse!
Also, I think you probably know, but for others:
You can reverse out of all these autocorrect cases by pressing Delete right after the autocorrection happens. When you do that you’ll get back the original character that you entered.
