The Mac App Store version of Bike is a yearly subscription. Once I publish Bike 2.0 to the App Store it will show up for you at no extra cost, as long as your subscription is still valid.
With the App Store subscription I receive major updates while the subscription is active; if the subscription is cancelled, Bike will revert to the baseline version.
In contrast, by buying Bike from the website I retain all the features from the current Bike version, with future major versions being paid upgrades.
Actually, Bike direct download licenses are a bit different than that. When buying from my website you get:
A one-time purchase license unlocks all Bike features and entitles you to one year of updates. After one year your updates will continue to work unlocked. Renew your license at 50% off to get another year of updates.
It’s a better deal than the App Store I think, but maybe less convenient if you normally use App Store for updates. And a bit more upfront cost… but less renewal. (Plus you get to run Bike 2.0 with your license)
I noticed that if I copy an image file in Finder and then paste it into a Bike outline, it will paste as a file path. This happens with the app I use for screenshots too.
Is there - or could there be - a way to “paste as attachment”, or some other way to naturally attach images/files from the clipboard?
Got it. I grabbed a license from within the app and downloaded Bike 2 to contribute with the bug hunting.
A special mention to Bike alerting animations would be turned off because it detected the system running in Low Power mode. It might be an small detail but it’s exactly the kind of optimizations I love to see
