I’m excited about accessibility work, it’s much more complete. At the same time I don’t use assistive tools so I’m not sure how actually good it is. Feedback welcome.

I also implemented better support for Edit > Writing Tools. It’s a times a difficult mapping, but it works for many cases now. Most predicable if you select a paragraph to operation on, but it will also run on the focused branch if selection is a caret.

Most of last week was working on documentation and then getting swept up in summer time busyness. Cold dark winter sure is better for programmer productivity!

That busyness is going into overdrive for the next week, then I should be back to regular work again and finish up those docs and get Bike out the door soon after that.

I don’t see Writing Tools under the Edit menu. Is there somewhere else i should be looking?

I wonder if that depends on having Apple Intelligence switched on in System Settings ... ?

i’ve got Apple Intelligence on.

i can activate WT in macOS Mail for instance, but not inside Bike

Perhaps the key is in the points made in @jessegrosjean’s post above about the selection context ?

With a block selection, for example, what I see here is:

not there (and i restored the action icons to the menu, but still no)

but in Mail, there it is.

Odd. What OS are you on? Might be change of behavior at OS level?

Edit I will also note that while I’ve done the integration I get much better results using Claude/MCP approach. Apple’s wring tools don’t know about row structure or types. Still apples tools are on device and free once you own the apple device. And they are pretty good at paragraph level.

bikethumbnailextension_crash01.txt (39.3 KB)

Jesse, is there a way Bike could index its iCloud folder and know which files live inside there?

I frequently use the cmd+\ shortcut to invoke Help menu and then type in document names that appear inside Open Recent. Sometimes the results in there will be out of date (most recently opened files have changed), and it’ll start opening the wrong documents. Then I have to fire up Finder and click the correct file. Would be super nice if I could just cmd+opt+O anything that lives inside Bike’s folder.
