Due date as the start date for the next item

Hi for everyone! Tell me, plz, can I make the due date as the start date for the next item with automatically updated if I change due date?
It’s like Project management software doing.

Hi for everyone!

Welcome!

I don’t have a perfect answer for you.

Tell me, plz, can I make the due date as the start date for the next item with automatically updated if I change due date?

First, no, TaskPaper can’t do this out of the “box”.

But, yes, you can probably perform this logic in a custom script:

Writing scripts for this sort of thing can be a fun challenge, it can also take a LOT of time, in many cases likely more than you’ll ever save.

automatically updated if I change due date?

TaskPaper will never be able to fully automatically do this. Instead you will need to run your script each time you want this logic updated.

As @jessegrosjean explains, it’s up to you to trigger any script that you write.

If you use Keyboard Maestro, you can place your script in one of its Execute JavaScript actions, and specify, in the KM trigger options, that it will run whenever you activate (open or select) a document in TaskPaper.
